New balance

After doing so, Adidas seems to be "unable to bear loneliness" recently. 3D printing technology should be used to taste it.

In June 2015, in order to improve people's understanding of marine pollution, the design team of Adidas, the famous German sports equipment manufacturer, launched a sports shoes made of marine plastic wastes and illegal deep-sea gill nets.

A year later, in June this year, Adidas and Marine Environmental Protection Agency Parley for the Oceans (founded in 2003 on the marine development and protection organization) on the basis of this closer step, the 3D printing and marine waste recycling two concepts combined, jointly made a kind of recycled polyester fiber and illegal deep-sea gillnet material for 3D printing raw material production shoes, Adidas named it Ocean Plastic, although the prototype shoes are not sold on the shelves, but its unique 3D printing materials and processes made of mesh breathable, soft soles for athletes footsteps provided unprecedented personalized support and buffer.

The raw material for this sport shoe comes from a large collection of marine plastic wastes collected along the coast and illegal deep-sea gillnets. Based on a pair of running shoes jointly created by Adidas and Parley in July 2015, the Futurecraft 3D shoe 3D is used to print the middle sole, which is also made from recycled marine waste.

Adopting customized optical fiber technology, the new design can meet the individual needs of different athletes.

Adidas executive board member and global brand leader Eric Liedtke (Eric Liedtke) believes that the new sports shoes are of great significance. Adidas has always been ahead of the world's advanced level in terms of sustainable development. This time with Parley for the Oceans, the main goal is to enhance public awareness and encourage and promote the protection and maintenance of marine resources.

Cyril Gucci, founder of Parley for the Oceans, also said that it was working with Adidas to develop innovative technologies, use recycled marine plastic waste to make synthetic fibers, and regenerate plastic with recycled marine plastic fragments. In the near future, the recycled fiber will be able to produce all kinds of footwear and clothing products, and will continue to be used to produce the upper surface of sports shoes.

In the future, this new technology will continue to be introduced and applied to other fields.
