Shandong'S Textile And Clothing Exports Increased By 15% In The First Three Quarters.

Due to the impact of the financial crisis in the United States, the economy of major developed countries has declined to varying degrees recently. This has great impact on many textile and garment enterprises that rely on export survival. However, the reporter also learned that in recent years, our province has been implementing the "diversification" strategy of textile and garment export. Therefore, in the first three quarters of this year, the export of textile and clothing in our province increased by 15% over the same period last year.

Statistics from the provincial foreign trade and economic cooperation department show that in 1-9 months, the export of textiles and garments in the province was 11 billion 720 million US dollars, up 15% from the same period last year, accounting for 16.9% of the total exports of the province and second categories of export commodities.

It is worth mentioning that in the past, the United States was the largest export market in our province, but this year the situation has changed.

Our exports to Africa and Oceania increased by 39.2% and 30.3% respectively. At the same time, the EU has surpassed the United States as the second largest market of textile and clothing exports in our province.

Exports to Japan amounted to 2 billion 750 million US dollars, an increase of 12.4%, lower than the average level of the whole province, and the US export to US $1 billion 770 million increased by only 2.2%.
